National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan, Taiwan, will be having a celebration of Vietnamese cultures with a grand gala and feast, according to the university, and an opening ceremony will be held on April 21 to kick off the Vietnam Cultural Week on campus.
NCKU Vietnam Students Association has organized Vietnam Cultural Week annually to introduce Taiwanese students and the general public to the beauty of Vietnamese culture.
This year’s theme is “Rhythm,” telling a story of overseas students who are living in a foreign country, studying and hoping to contribute what they learn to their mother country.
The event will introduce, promote and exchange the culture amongst Vietnamese, local and international friends, according to NCKU Vietnam Students Association.
The first day of the Vietnam Culture Week on April 21 will include food tasting, and traditional folk games.
Vietnamese dishes such as rice noodle, spring rolls, dumplings, Vietnamese bread, as well as authentic Vietnamese coffee will be served.
A performance featuring traditional Vietnamese art will be held at Cheng-Kung Hall in the evening of April 22.
In addition, a career forum is organized in the Vietnam Cultural Week, inviting several well-known companies in Taiwan including Cathay Pacific, Makalot, Fubon Financial to offer job opportunities for Vietnamese students and students from South-eastern countries.
The Vietnamese Cultural Week has increased in popularity over the years, and its aim is to not only promote traditional Vietnamese culture, but to also offer all the Vietnamese people living, learning and working in Taiwan an opportunity to gather together.
