Come and Enjoy Thailand's Songkran Festival at NCKU

Thailand's Songkran Festival, also known as Thai Water Festival or 潑水節 is by far the most important event of the year for the Thai people. It's a time of fun and New Year ritual. The term Songkran itself means “The movement of the sun from Aries to Taurus''. In Thai tradition the festival includes the celebration of the end of one year, “Troot”, and the beginning of a new year, “Songkran”.

As Songkran is the most important gala for the Thai people, we (Thai association at NCKU) hope that by showing NCKU the tradition of Songkran, we can teach students and guests about our culture, give them a better understanding of what it is like to be the Thai people, and lead them to experience the real Thai water festival!
