Lu Yen-Hsun Served Up Ceremonial First Pitch for the New Intellectual Tennis Court of NCKU

Lu Yen-Hsun was invited to the opening ceremony of NCKU’s new intellectual tennis court.

 

The new intellectual tennis court of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) opened on 17th, September. Lu Yen-Hsun, the outstanding Taiwanese tennis player, was invited to hold the opening ceremony and served up ceremonial first pitch.

 

Since his wife is from Tainan, Lu regards himself as the son-in-law of Tainan. In addition, he had been to NCKU for tennis events and got his first championship at the age of 14. 20 years later, Lu re-visited NCKU and experienced NCKU’s highly emphasis on physical education.

NCKU will host National Intercollegiate Athletic Games (NIAG) in 2021, and tennis events will be held in the new intellectual tennis court. The new tennis court is located on Tzu-Chiang Campus and its design meets the specification of NIAG. Moreover, the court installed electronic monitor and RFID key in order to monitor the number of users and ensure public health during the pandemic.

 

Lu Yen-Hsun and Dr. Ju-Ming Wang, Vice President of Academic Affairs, served up ceremonial first pitch, and then they played a double game with two members of NCKU tennis team.

Dr. Huey-Jen Jenny Su, President of NCKU, Dr. Ju-Ming Wang, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Li-Juan Lin, Vice President of Students Affairs, and Lu Yen-Hsu participated in the opening ceremony.

 

Dr. Huey-Jen Jenny Su, President of NCKU, Dr. Ju-Ming Wang, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Dr. Li-Juan Lin, Vice President of Students Affairs, also participated in the opening ceremony. Dr. Su pointed out that 17th, September, was a significant day, which symbolized NCKU’s thorough preparation for 2021 NIAG. Dr. Su expected that all of these efforts and contributions will benefit the future generation. In addition, this court will welcome everyone, and its technological management will protect the security and the health of every user. 

 

Tzu-Chiang sports field includes pitches for baseball and football, courts for tennis and volleyballs and tracks for athletics. Built more than 30 years ago, Ching-Yeh tennis court will be retired and Tzu-Chiang tennis court will then inherit its mission to advance and create a brand-new sports area.
